Was hoping to get a little advice with ECs. I'm a 5th year, finishing my last pre reqs, applying next year, taking the Mcat early next year. Right now my app looks like:
-should have a 3.5cGPA, 3.7sGPA by graduation
-started late and transferred from CC, so strong upward trend last few years from 2.8 at transfer to 3.8 since.
-300 hours working in Nicaragua tutoring elementary school students in very poor communities
-should have 200 hours volunteering in the surgery department of a local hospital as a PCL, basically running errands/messages between nurses/doctors and patients.(clinical)
-about 50 hours shadowing family medicine physician
-I work 35 hours a week managing a restaurant (leadership?)
-spanish speaking URM
-Anthropology major with focus on Latin America
I really want to get into a school with a MD/MPH program (in particular USC's Keck or Drexel), if I were able to hit a 30 MCAT, what would be missing from here that would make me more competitive? I know my cGPA is low, but I've already had to drag it out of the mud, I can't get it much higher before I'd like to apply.
