Hey so I just finished my third year of college. I can not make up my mind if I should apply this summer or take a year off. I am taking the MCAT June 20 My practice exams are around 32. I think my score would be anywhere from 30 to 34 but I know it hard to say without the real deal.
I currently have a 3.64 gpa overal and science which is lower than I wanted. I have about 100 hours of volunteering in hostipal, 50 hour shadowing a orthopedic surgeon, 1 year of mentoring kids, 1.5 years of research with 4 poster presentations.
Other things white male, florida resident
If I took a year I feel like I could improve. With a gap year I think I would raise my GPA to about 3.7 not really sure if it would make a difference at all. Get more experience maybe a job as a CNA because my senior year will be light. And I will most likely get published. I am helping write a paper now. What do you guys think? would I be a lot better chances next year?
Also my gap year I would most likely get a job with my PI so I would be doing nothing. He just got alot of funding
