Hi there! I just got my MCAT scores back a week ago, so I've been trying to build a school list. Any help would be great! I attend a non-HYP Ivy and am looking at schools in/near Boston and NYC especially, but of course CA too. I'm a CA resident, white female, first-generation college student, and FAP-recipient (so I get 14 schools free).
cGPA: 3.47 (strong upward trend, senior GPA 4.0)
sGPA: 3.3
MCAT: 34 (12/12/10)
Volunteering: 250 hours clinical, 60 non-clinical (animal shelter)
Shadowing: 80 hours in surgery and clinics
Research: 1.5 years in biology lab, potential 2nd author publication.
ECs: 4 yrs orchestra with leadership, peer advisor
LoRs: 1 definitely strong one from PI, 2 probably average ones from professors; all through my school's pre-med committee
Personal Statement: very strong, if I do say so myself!
In rough order of ascending tier, I'm looking at:
1. Tulane
2. NYMC
3. Loyola
4. UC Davis
5. UC Irvine
6. Boston U
7. Tufts
8. Brown
9. Mayo
10. Mt. Sinai
11. NYU
12. UCSD
13. Harvard
Obviously the top 5 are just dreams!
