MD & DO 29 MCAT 3.8 sGPA, can I apply?

Hey guys,

After studying hard for several months, I just received a mediocre MCAT score (29 - 9 PS, 11 VR, 9 BS). I'm pretty crushed; my practice scores ranged from 31 - 34 but averaged close to 33. I suppose I'm glad that schools seem to weigh VR a tiny bit more (I rarely scored 11 in prx), but I also rarely scored 9's in the sciences during prx - the 9's are weird considering I've gotten an A in literally every chem/bio/upper level bio class I've taken. I even tutor chem and bio! Okay, enough ranting...

Here's a very condensed list of my stats:

GPA: 3.75c, 3.8s at a top10 undergrad, biology major

MCAT: 29 - 9 PS, 11 VR, 9 BS

State: one that doesn't have any state-supported public schools, unfortunately

Ethnicity/Background: First-Generation White/Hispanic (although I highly doubt I would count as a URM)

As for EC's, for now just assume that I have relatively good research experience (unique lab since sophomore year), volunteering/clinical experience (EMT), work experience (TAing, tutoring), leadership and shadowing. I know this is basically useless, but FWIW I think that if anything my EC's would help me fairly significantly. The point is that there's essentially no way they'd hold me back.

As a busy junior in college, my courseload and activities schedule simply will not allow me to devote any time to study for an MCAT retake until mid-to-late May. Even then, I'm not totally confident that I could significantly improve (and I could very well go down in verbal or get an unlucky set of science topics again).

Here's the point: For several reasons that I won't elaborate on here, I'm virtually 100% set on applying this summer (early June). I think that even if I wanted to retake, the time/stress required to adequately study would delay my application and not be worth it. I am perfectly happy to attend almost any MD school (and most DO schools), and I plan on applying to up to thirty schools in total. Please tell me that if I apply early/broadly a 29 MCAT is not the kiss of death and that it's entirely reasonable to think that I can have a successful application season.

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it and could use the help/advice after a really rough week:(
