Currently hold a BA and MS degree.
Undergrad Overall GPA: 3.79
Grad GPA: 3.92
Science GPA: 3.6
African american female 2.5 years of research experience, have 3 semesters of teaching experience through the university, 4 months of public health experience, 4 years of participating in a religious student group on campus, random volunteer activities here and there, probably total of 75 hrs?
No clinical experience to date. Will start my shadowing to see if I even want to pursue MD and then maybe CNA or Medical Assistant? How many hours should I do of each?
ISSUES:
1. I haven't taken Ochem. I plan on doing this during the fall and spring of next year while simultaneously studying for the MCAT.
2. I want to apply next June. Is this even realistic?
What are my chances of getting into a decent school the first time I apply? What things can I do during my year off that will increase my chances of getting accepted somewhere? I know I will try my best on the MCAT but what sort of score is "good enough" to get in ???
Any input is much appreciated :)
