The story so far:
Additionally, I have about 4 years of experience working in EMS as a paid and volunteer EMT, firefighter, and paramedic. I speak Spanish fluently, Japanese to near-fluency, and I'm rather proficient in ASL. I've volunteered in ER's in the past, and can probably get some strong/very strong recommendations from ER doctors in my area. EDIT TO ADD: Varsity crew while in college. Deaf outreach while working as a paramedic.
What are my chances, and what else could I be doing to improve them?
- Went to college not planning on going into medicine.
- BA in Philosophy 3.25 cGPA (A's and B's with a C in Biology).
- Foreign exchange experience, 4.0 GPA while abroad.
- Currently in community college to fill in missing science experience, 4.0 GPA.
- Planning on taking the MCAT's in the fall, judging by the pre-study I've been doing, probably could manage a 30-33.
