how many DO schools should I apply to with these stats? I would love to get into DMU, PCOM, or CCOM, but if I am only applying to about 5-8 DO schools it wouldn't be a smart idea to apply to all of the top DO schools. So how many schools and where should I apply?

40 hours shadowing at a hospital
*trying to find a DO to shadow*

community service officer in my fraternity
on a board for a university event planing committee
I just need to know where and how many to apply to so that I can have a comfortable chance of getting accepted.
I'm a Texas resident by the way, if that helps. I'll be applying to all texas schools in the slight outside shot that I may have. But I'm looking to applying to DO schools out of state.
