Hi SDN community,

I’ve been dancing for 14 years***
On a nationally-ranked competitive dance team representing my university (12 hrs/week)
Member of an executive board for a performance showcase at school (4 hrs/week)
Runs own business (4 years)
Research
6 months in a virology lab – 1 publication
12 months in a neuroscience lab (current)*** – no pubs but a few presentations
In the honors program – have the intent to do my senior thesis on this work, hopefully a pub by the end of the year
Wrote a grant for and received funding for my work from a well-known research fellowship (totaling $7500)
Awards/etc.
Women’s Studies Certificate (like the minor of a minor)
Outstanding Student Award
State Scholarship
Minority Student Award
Dean’s List (All semesters)
Weaknesses: I’m graduating a year early from undergrad. The main reasons are that I came in with a significant amount of pre-college credits, and took advanced courses for most of them and also financials. Soon enough, I found myself only a few classes away from graduating, so I decided to wrap up at the undergrad level. I gained interest in pursuing medicine early in college, and for a while had the goal of applying early. However, I know that this might be a caveat to my application, and I am prepared to answer questions about it. Thoughts?
School List (I made this list going off of my AAMC averages which were somewhat lower than my actual score, so I need some suggestions, especially for match/safeties!):
Reach:
Cornell
Columbia
Johns Hopkins
Mt. Sinai
Stanford
UCLA/PRIME
Northwestern
UCSF
Match:
George Washington University
University of Maryland
New York University
Georgetown University
USC
Safety:
Temple
Drexel
Thanks for reading!
