I was just wondering what my chances are at mid-low tier MD schools. I mainly just want to get in somewhere but I'm a CA resident so I don't have a safety school.
GPA 3.56 with an upwards trend. 3.04 and 3.48 first 2 years, 3.87 both junior and senior years.
2 MCATs
29: 12PS 7VR 10 BS
33: 13 PS 9 VR 11 BS
50 Hours shadowing chief of psychiatry at San Francisco General Hospital
300 Hours working in a Clinical Setting with bipolar patients (About 1 year - job)
1 year of a job in mental health of campus
Summer Camp Leader
1.5 Years of Research on Cocaine addiction with rats - no publication
Private Organic Chemistry Tutor
Led MMA club for 2 years on campus
I was thinking of retaking the MCAT to try to stay in CA, would a 35-36 grant me a better chance or would it not change much?
Also, I was wondering what schools would my stats match up for? I know that there are some schools with similar numbers but I don't know whether they take out of state students.
Thanks!
