Hey guys,
I am a URM with a degree in biochemsitry and a minor in spanish, I have a 3.47 GPA with a science GPA of 3.35. There was a positive upward trend in my grades because my first year and a half of college I never studied. I received a 27 on my MCAT (10 BS, 9 PS, 8VR) and am applying broadly to MD and DO schools, I am retaking the test in July to try and get a better score because in my practice tests I was getting 12-13 BS, 11-12 PS, and 10-11 VR. I have EC's like job shadowing doctors, going to Africa for a month to help out in a hospital, volunteering in the ER, working in a group home, a peer mentor for my college, worked in an organic chemistry research lab, helped build playgrounds for children at a soup kitchen, captain of intramural sports teams, etc. I was wondering what my chances would be getting in applying to MD and DO with the stats that I have now, even though I know I can and will do better on the MCAT in July.
