Hello fellow SDN people!
Thanks in advance for any advice, especially from those who have come from similar situations to mine. I have a school list and want to get some feedback on it.
Overview of me:
My GPA and sGPA are between 3.45 and 3.5. My MCAT is 35 (12PS, 12 BS, 11V).
I started off college as a theater/acting major and switched over as a sophomore...I had a band for 2.5 years in college. We performed all over NYC, and released some recordings too.
I have published a healthcare economics paper as the sole author and have published an abstract (with presentation) about an environmental science topic (this was my major). I've got about 6 months of lab research, both at prestigious medical schools. I am a full time professional EMT, and have been working in EMS for about a year now. I have a good amount of volunteer time under my belt, and have shadowed doctors in many specialties. I have some pretty cool internships under my belt, including paid work at Doctors Without Borders. I'm going on a medical mission trip to Haiti in two weeks!
I have a letter from a chem prof, one from my senior project advisor (6 month research experience with presentation), one from a manager at my ambulance company, one from a global health professor, and one from a DO for my DO programs. I expect all letters to be good. I went to college in NYC, but am a Massachusetts resident now.
