My MCAT is yet to be determined. I take it May 30th, and I'm applying June 1st, before I get my scores. These are my EC's as of now.
*400 Hours volunteer work with Habitat for Humanities/Red Cross Post Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans
*100 Hours research in Histology Lab
*100 Hours shadowing Cardiologists
*800 Hours Internship as a Cardiovascular Technologist in EP/Cath Lab
*Studied abroad in Croatia (Patholophysiology, and Healthcare Diversity), also shadowed physicians here as well in a public hospital
I also have several VERY strong letters of recommendation from physicians here at Mayo Clinic and ones from previous hospitals I work for, as well as professors I worked with.
Two different degrees
1) A.A.S. Cardiovascular Technologist (3.6 GPA)
2) B.S. Biomedical Sciences (3.75 Sci, 3.75 Cumm.)
Work Experience (Significant Ones)
*Teachers Assistant for Cardiovascular Program at College (Taught in open lab)
*Currently work at Mayo Clinic interpreting ECG's
*Cardiovascular Assistant - Did sheath removal on patients
If I hypothetically got a 28, do you still think I would still have a significant enough chance to get into a Med School with my EC's? My goal is at least a 30, but just wondering what you think the lowest score I could get, still allowing me entrance somewhere. Should I try and do more EC's? Thanks.
Also I am a MN resident
