I am a junior honor student majoring in biology and psychology. My cum GPA is a 3.905 and my science GPA is 3.87. I took my MCAT this past September and scored a 33Q (12 ps, 11 v, 10 bs). Here's a little bit about my EC's.
I am a member and president elect of a biological science/ pre professional honorary. I also serve on a committee. ~2 years
I am a general chemistry lab ta and ochem exam grader/tutor. ~began in September.
I teach an exercise class at a senior citizen apartment facility once a week (this includes organizing/creating the routine). this also began in September.
I volunteer for hospice which includes visiting sick patients and spending time with them, cooking for them, reading to them, and giving their primary caregivers time to run errands/take a break
I worked for a microbiology lab as a research assistant my freshman year for a year (no publications), and now I work in a rad-onc lab since this past summer and plan to do research all summer and until I graduate next year (no publications yet).
I did a lot of shadowing during high school (50 hours) but have only about 10 since I have been at the university level. I plan to beef up those hours this semester before I apply in June.
My school list as of now includes:
(In state)
Case Western
Northeast Ohio Medical University
Ohio State University
University of Toledo
University of Cincinnati
Wright State University
(Out of state)
baylor college of medicine
indiana university
marshall university
oakland university
commonwealth medical college
University of michigan
university of louisville
west virginia university
My preference is to stay in state. Should I add more stretch schools/safety schools?
