Hey, I'm wondering if 2 weeks from now is too late for me to apply to a few top postbac programs. I am particularly interested in Bryn Mawr (original, I know). Any thoughts? For what programs, if any, would I be a competitive applicant?
Here are my stats:
2004 SATs: 1300 out of 1600
Community College General Ed: 3.9
-B in summer intro chem course (1 semester's worth only)
-One W
UC Berkeley, 1 semester: 3.4
-C+ in Analytic Geometry & Calculus
-Dropped out for personal reasons during second semester, and returned to community college (included in above GPA)
Another, relatively crappy UC: 4.0 GPA
-BA in Literature
-Studied Latin and skipped ahead
Postbac exploratory courses @ community college: 4.0
Physiology, Anatomy, Human Development
-May have one W
College ECs (each for ~1 year):
college delegate at regional queer student conference (1x)
Rape prevention workshop leader
Worked as a writing/research tutor for transfer students
Hospital volunteer 2006
Actor in student-directed scene (1x)
Higher education workshop leader at Oakland High
Eco homes volunteer tour guide (1x)
Sorority
Since college (grad 09) I have lived in a small town, worked 3 jobs, taken 3 classes, and that's pretty much it.
I am concerned that the Ws, complicated educational history, poor science/math grades, and limited postgrad activity imply sulkiness.
Thank you for any advice/insight.
