Hello fellow SDNers,
I need your advice. I just caculated my gpa using the amcas weighted excel sheet. I am frightened by it because it is much lower than expected. Is it worth my money to apply to MD schools? I am not opposed to either DO or MD. I will be applyin in the next cyle hopefully :)
I did a bs/ms program for undergrad. So I did't necessarily have a senior year and my junior year classes went towards both degrees. So when doing the calculations, I added the graduate coursework into senior year.
I have my masters in occupational therapy. I'm currently enrolled in a post bac program where I have a 3.96.
Cgpa (AMCAS): 3.45 excludng pass/fail courses for clinical
Sgpa (amcas): 3.32
Undergrad: 3.4
Grad: 3.65
Post bac- 3.96
MCAT: May 2013, studyin super hard to ace it
Volunteer:
Reading volunteer currently 2 hours a week

mobile clinic committee: couple hours a month
Head Coach- dance team 12 hours per week x 3 years
Occupational Therapy association-committee, fundraising events for HAITI
Dance team member x 2 years prior to coaching
Work:

Pt access Rep (registration in ER)- Hospital
Occupational Therapist currently
Shadowing:
40 hours of surgery, womens health, er, opthamology
Lots of clinical experience because of my grad degree in OT had clinicals ranging from psych to birth to 3 to geriatrics
Think its even possible for MD? I have residencies in two states.
I thank you so much for your time! :o:)
