Hi, everyone!
I really want to get an idea of whether I should give up on my dream of becoming a physician.
My undergraduate GPA = 3.19
Graduate School GPA = 3.21
I had a 3.4 at the end of my junior year in college and it plummeted my senior year. My mom didn't have a job so I was extremely stressed. I was heavily involved in extracurricular activities (student government president, president of my class junior/sophomore year, MARC scholar, did research senior year and did something every summer). During grad school, I lived with my grandfather who suffered from dementia and liver cirrhosis. I helped take care of him (bathed him, changed his diaper, etc.) I finished grad school in May. I had a D during my second semester and was on academic suspension, but I won the appeal. I also had a C in grad school. I had an F in a lab during my last year in college, and was on disciplinary probation my sophomore year in college because I made some holes in the wall of my dorm room although it was a dumb accident on my behalf.
Am I a lost cause? I don't care what school accepts me. I know there are some schools that have "lower" gpa/mcat standards. I am retaking the MCAT in 2013. I made a 21 when I first took it in 2009. I'm prepared to hear the worst (as I've told myself the worst many times).
Thanks. I hope this isn't a waste of time.
