Hello,
Will someone please look at my grades below and tell me how they look for allopathic med schools? I'm planning to apply in the 2013-14 application cycle. I have a 3.30 overall science GPA. Background: Graduated from a top 10 college in 2011, and went through a very difficult period in college due to the death of a family member. Made a lot of mistakes with my grades. I retook a few classes and some extra classes during a post-bacc year to salvage my GPA a bit. I'm hoping med schools that take the time to look at my transcript will see the A's in upper level classes and take those into account.
Freshman Year:
Calc I - A-
Calc II - A-
Calc III - A-
(Not sure if these two classes will count in BCPM: A- in Environmental Hist of the Earth and B- in Ice-Age Earth )
Sophomore Year:
Biology - B
Multivariable Calculus - A
Zoology - B+
Linear Algebra - A
Junior (when I decided to be pre-med):
Cell Biology - B
Gen Chem I - B
Analysis (Math) Shouldn't have taken this class!! - B-
Genetics - A-
Econometrics - A-
Senior Year- this year was terrible.
Physics I - B-
Physics II - A-
Physics III - C (ouch, I know)
Gen Chem II - B-
Gen Chem III - C- (retook it in post-bacc for A-)
Statistics - C-
Physiology - A
Post-Bacc Year:

Immunology - B+
Retook Physics I but at higher level - B+
Retook Chem III - A-
Cancer Biology - A-
Endocrinology I - A-
Endocrinology II - A-
Organic chem I - B
Organic chem II - B-
