Hi all,
I plan on applying in June of this year (2013) and was wondering what the thinking was on my overall application. I realize my GPA is incredibly low, but I'm hoping my MCAT can help get my foot in the door at least. I am not a URM student. My deep passion is to do MD/PhD based on my interest in both medicine and research, but I have a feeling that ship has sailed with my low GPA. I am currently doing more investigating on DO schools, which I will probably add, but I don't want to go just to get into medical school, only if I think it's a fit for me. I'm very interested if what you think of my MCW MSTP chances, do you think my time here improves my chances and makes up for my application weakness enough? If you could comment on my school selection (any more additional suggested?), and should I look to apply to any of these schools MD/PhD as well. I'm worried if I do out of the gate it will hurt my chances in the selection process, better to apply once I get it. Let me know if you need more info.
