Hello, I just received my final grades for the fall semester and it looks like my cGPA is going to be a 3.5 and my sGPA is at a 3.35 (:() right now after 48 GPA credits. I haven't taken my MCAT yet and I haven't done too much in terms of EC's (I'm the captain of our schools club soccer team and I have volunteered a bit. That's pretty much it but I'm looking to add some research and other EC's next year hopefully). Just looking at my GPA is pretty depressing but I really want to hear the truth about what I should get my GPA up to in order to have a realistic chance at an MD school.
Oh and I'm also going to be graduating with University Honors if that is a factor (I heard that this isn't really too much a factor from lurking these forums for a couple years.)
The main reason why my GPA is poor is due to a C+ in Orgo 1 (A- in Orgo 1 lab) and a B- in both Orgo 2 lab and lecture. Is it worth retaking Orgo 1 to get an A?
