Hello, I just got my MCAT results back and was really disappointed with my physics score. I plan on retaking the test but for now I want to know what my chances are and if there are other schools I should consider.
GPA cum 3.89 sci 3.80
MCAT PS/VR/BS 08/11/10 --29Q
I am retaking in January (I want to get at least a 10/11/11--32)
I have over 1000 hours of clinical experience, I work full time in the Emergency Department at a local hospital as the head Unit Support Coordinator. I also have about 50 hours volunteer clinical hours in patient care at the same hospital.
I have about 25 hours of volunteer service at an animal shelter socializing animals for adoption. I also just started as a tutor for intro organic and general chemistry students.
No actual physician shadowing as off yet (I have several things lined up for the summer including orthopedic surgeons, dermatologists and primary care physicians).
I have been working in a evolution and development lab for a little less than a year working on my own graduate level project. Through that I am a Howard Hughes Medical Institute fellow (I have received a grant from them!!!). Right now its looking iffy if I'm going to get published or not, but hopefully I will.
I take full credit loads every semester (18-21 credits), and work about thirty hours a week during the semesters and 50-60 hours a week during holiday's/summer.
These are the school's I was planning on applying too....
UCSF :D
Stanford :D
David Geffen UCLA
Keck USC
Loma Linda :)
Georgetown :)
George Washington
Pritzker
Rush
Northwestern
BU
Tufts
University of Maryland :)
Johns Hopkins :D

University of Minnesota
UTexas at Houston
Baylor
University of Washington :)
