Hi I have a question, I am about to finish my sophmore year in a BSN program, I was let in, I completed my bacground checks, BUT I had 2 DUIs, I know it sounds horrible. I was at a low point in my life, and getting in school and back on track got me out and far away from that life style. I was asked to do a drug and alcohol interview to be sure that I was in no harm to others and able to prove to the school that i was no threat. I hardly work and trying to keep up with the cost of tuition of school and my house I could not afford that interview, and explained to the company in which I was suppose to meet with. I even asked if I could use the insurance that was manditory to purchase through the school for the interview/evaluation. The lady on the phone could not answer that question and suggested I drive and hour and a half away bring the insurance card and pretty much find out. I have no help from anyone and couldnt afford to pay for the extra gas money either. i didnt not hear from them for over a month. I just received a letter stating that because I did not go to the interview (or drive the hour and a half away just to see if my insurance would cover it), That i am being kicked out of the BSN program at the school i am attending (and 2 weeks away from completing), and it is suggested that I do not pursue a career in Nursing or try and get my License within the state I live in. Am I out of the career that I have been determined to get and nearly half way there? Should I try another school, or meet with this company and try and explain my circumstances, or is it just going to be a waste of my time, and money spent? Someone please help!!!
