Hi everyone,
Thanks so much for you input. I am rather stressed in thinking that I may be completely passed over for an interview this year, so I thought I would get your opinions.
I graduated in 2011 from the University of Michigan with a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.1. I currently have a post-graduate GPA of 3.86, but that only includes a couple of classes (and no master's degree or anything of the sort). I believe my AACOMAS GPA is somewhere around 3.14. For the schools that care about the last 60 credit hours, my GPA for that is around a 3.5.
I will have worked for 3 years managing a neuroscience laboratory before matriculation. In this time, I'll have approximately 3 fMRI publications (2 first author). I'll also have 200-300 hours volunteering at the Massachusetts General Hospital in a useful position, and various other outreach activities. I have plenty of other interesting extracurricular activities.
MCAT in September 2012 of 36. Previously taken in 2010 with a 29.
My AMCAS application was submitted on day 1 (June 10, 2012).
My AACOMAS application was submitted July 23, and is still not processed (as of 7/30).
I currently have secondaries complete at the following schools:
Albany
Albert Einstein
Boston University
Central Michigan
Dartmouth (reach x 1000, but my #1)
GWU
Georgetown
Michigan State
Mount Sinai
Oakland University
University of Vermont
Tufts
Michigan
Brown
Western Michigan
I am applying to the following schools and still need to finish/get/haven't received secondaries:
MSUCOM (DO; still waiting on primary to be verified)
UNECOM (DO; still waiting on primary to be verified)
Drexel (hasn't sent out secondaries yet?)
University of Washington (not so friendly to low-stat OOS applicants?)
Quinnipiac (hasn't sent out secondaries yet?)
Any advice (.i.e., any schools you would add on? anything I can do in the interval time?)? What do you think my chances are? Will I get an interview anywhere? I would GREATLY appreciate it!!!
Even a "you suck" or a "no way" is totally appreciated and okay. :)
Edit: oops, and of course the title should say "think".
