Hey guys, its now November and I completed all my secondaries back in August. Starting to get really anxious as I haven't gotten any interviews, even at my two state schools. I got my MCAT back at the beginning of June when I was sending in my primary app, and my score gave me a false sense of security I think. Just want to know if I should start worrying and looking at alternatives for next year i.e. grad school or post-bacc to bring up my GPAs.
I'm an Arizona resident who grew up in Chicago. I would be a legacy at Medical College of Wisconsin, and also have family ties to Nebraska.
My extracurriculars are:
-1 year of research in Neuroscience lab w/ no pubs
-3 months of research in Orthopaedics w/ no pubs
-2 years as President of an intercollegiate athletic club through our Campus Rec. I manage ~50 players. Run practices, schedule games/tournaments, and make all accomodations with a $40k budget. Travel across the country to play in tournaments, and have won our conference 3 years in a row, with our best finish last year in the top 10.
-300+ volunteer hours at University Hospital in Outpatient Surgery and ER. Also serve on Volunteer Department's Student Advisory Board. I am head of subcommittee in charge of recruiting new student volunteers, and also train new recruits on the floor.
-1 year as TA for my General Chemistry Professor
-Volunteer in local community athletics program. Provide lessons to children of families who could not afford otherwise in order to help spread the game to these demographics as well as provide a positive learning environment those of lesser privilege.
-Volunteer at Special Olympics Arizona.
-Helped organize charity events and tournaments to raise money for university hospital and other various healthcare research.
-Coached athletics as part time job.
Unfortunately I am a caucasian male. Not to my advantage I'm sure. Although if you look at the demographics from this past election, definitely now a minority even though I may not be considered one haha.
I'm still in play at:
University of Illinois - Chicago
Northwestern
Rush University
Rosalind Franklin - Small pool
Harvard
Johns Hopkins
UA Phoenix
Medical College of Wisconsin - Small pool
Iowa
Creighton
Colorado
Michigan
Cincinnati
UA Tucson

Rejected by:
