Hi Everyone!
I applied last cycle late (complete at most schools late sept to late october) and very top heavy. I got one interview at a top 10 school but was waitlisted unfortunately. My LORs and PS were said to be very good. I wasn't too pleased with my activity descriptions so I rewrote them this time around, but I'm still inclined to believe the lateness was my main downfall.
I submitted early this time and plan to prewrite secondaries. But I need some help with my school list! I do want to try my luck again at some top 20 schools but I don't know how they'll view re-applicants. But I also definitely want to add some 'safety' schools. Any recommendations would be great! (fyi: citizen but no state residency)
MCAT: 13PS, 12VR, 12BS
- Research - 1 year, 2 posters/1 award, I was significantly involved and will get a publication in the distant future but probably not during this application cycle haha :(
- Clinical research - 100+ hours
- Major leadership experience (without going into too much detail: president of a big campus organization, accomplished quite a bit, raised $40,000+, and was recognized nationally for it) - 2 years
- Tutoring - 100+ hours
- A few other small leadership experiences
- International volunteering experience
- Some work experiences, hobbies, shadowing, and I wrote a policy paper that was published in the media
Any advice would be much appreciate!
