MD 3.45 cGPA, 3.43 sGPA, 36 MCAT

Hey guys,

I'd really appreciate some feedback on whether I am a competitive applicant for MD schools as well as suggestions for specific schools I should consider. Here is my info:

Stats

• ORM male
• SC resident
• Rising senior
• Top 10 LAC
• 3.45 cGPA
• 3.43 sGPA
• 36 MCAT (13 VR, 11 PS, 12 BS)

ECs

• Prostate cancer research - 240 hrs, won a couple of awards
• Neuroscience research - 480 hrs
• Immunology research - 270 hrs
• President of two student organizations
• Hospice volunteering - 80 hrs
• Organized fundraisers to support various causes - breast cancer research, earthquake victims in Japan, environmental causes
• Worked throughout college - 10 hrs/wk
• Shadowing primary care physician - 40 hrs
• Shadowing specialists - 27 hrs (ortho, pulm)
• Hospital experience in ED and STICU - 80 hrs, for a health care ethics class
• Participated in a college theatre production
• Club sports - rowing (team captain)
• Honor societies - AED, BBB

I will hopefully have a strong committee letter as well as a letter from one PI. Spent a good bit of time refining my personal statement.
