Hello guys, long time lurker here finally deciding to begin applying next cycle, just want to get some feedback as to how I'm looking so far and what I can do to improve.
Undergrad cGPA 3.0 sGPA 3.1
Grad school science program 3.7
Upward trend in undergrad - 3.4 and 3.5 last 2 years respectively
Experience
Over 2000 working in a hospital pharmacy
200+ hours emergency room volunteer
80+ hours shadowing a couple physicians
Various other volunteering in my community that isn't in the medical field
Worked full time in undergrad to pay for my own school
Possibility of doing research next spring and summer but not sure yet
Planning on taking MCAT early August 2013 so I can focus my whole summer on studying for it when I won't have school work.
Okay so I know my undergrad GPA is low which is why I'm doing graduate work but I'm hoping my upward trend will help me, I'm busting my butt to do good in school now because unfortunately I wasn't mature when I first entered college and got a 1.7 and 2.2 GPA my first 2 years. I'm trying to do everything in my power to become a stronger applicant, I will apply broadly and I'll have my app completed early September. I know this is a little late but if I don't get in I'll try again the following year. I'd really like to go to an Illinois school as I'm a resident here and I'd like to live close to home. I think I've covered everything please let me know if there's any other info I'm missing.
