3.9 GPA is from enrolled university
total gpa will be lower from a calculus class I took during high school , but I retook calculus and then took more advanced math classes , earning straight A's

CA resident

rare type of engineering major

Okay EC's, but not spectacular or anything- A little volunteering, a very small amount of shadowing, a decent amount of research in my field of study

I am applying for 2014 admission and will be taking the MCAT again very soon. I anticipate I will do better since I had not taken any of the prereqs aside from physics the first time, in addition to having limited study materials and study time available. How much better? I do not know.

This is my list right now, I would like to reduce it to a more manageable number. I think 20-25 might be a good balance for me, given my wild card GPA/MCAT combination and the fact that I won't have my next MCAT score until maybe the beginning of August, and I am trying to submit by the end of June.

Here is the list (star indicates my preference)
Baylor College of Medicine *
Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine
David Jeffersen School of Medicine at UCLA

Drexel University College of Medicine /Philadelphia,Pennsylvania
Emory University School of Medicine /Atlanta, Georgia
George Washington University School of Medicine

If it helps reduce the list, I am hesitant about applying to NY, Chicago, and MA schools because of the cost of living
