MD 38 MCAT 3.89 cGPA 3.80 sGPA ND resident

Hey guys,

I wanted to ask for advice and if my school choices are too top-heavy. My numbers are very good but my EC's leave much to be desired. I have two very strong LOR's coming in with my others being average.

MCAT: 38 (13PS/11VR/14BS)
cGPA: 3.89 sGPA: 3.80 (I don't know for sure if that's calculated correctly but it's around there)
Chemistry Major
White male
North Dakota resident

EC's:
-Shadowing at a couple hospitals and clinics: 150 hours
-Tutoring at local high school for English as a second language students: 50 hours
-A few minor volunteer experiences
-A few student organizations, no leadership positions
-Summer research in chemistry with poster presentation
-Work experience while in college (unrelated to medicine)

Vanderbilt

I am reasonably confident that I will get into North Dakota, so I don't know how many other 'safe' schools I need to include when I would be perfectly fine with UND. Are there any schools here that are too much of a reach to be reasonable or anywhere I should add? Any other thoughts? I'm just not sure how much my weak EC's will affect my chances at top schools, for which my scores/GPA are reasonable.
