So I have a 3.7 GPA with a 3.66 science GPA. I'm a FL resident and am hispanic. I submitted AMCAS the minute it opened but I thought I would have a higher MCAT (I consistenly scored 33s on my aamc practice tests but got a 30 on the actual test). Now I'm wondering whether or not to retake it. I initially wanted to go to med school in a big city with NYU and Georgetown being top of my list. Should I retake my MCAT? Should I still apply to NYU and hope since it's early my chances will go up? I have tons of extracurriculars (research, band, clinical volunteering, non-clincal service), some shadowing experience, and lots of leadership experience. I'm a Biology major with a Catholic Social Teaching minor from Notre Dame. I'm not sure it's worth retaking my MCAT but I don't think I can get into my dream schools with my scores. The schools I'm applying to so far include:
Boston University
New York Medical College
Georgetown
Tufts
Loyola
Brown
UF
Miami Miller School of Medicine
Temple
George Washington
I know most people apply to around 15. Any ideas on the last 5? Or should I retake the MCAT and then see?
