Stats:
CA resident
uGPA: 3.9 biomedical engineering (did my undergrad in NY state)
gGPA: 3.2...same major and i have reasons for this drop (public CA school)
MCAT: 12P 9V 10B...:(
ECs:
Some industrial work experience by the time i apply
25 hours shadowing cardiologist and ortho surgeon
Should have two publications, one first author and one second author, by the time im done with my MS, several abstracts to ORS conference
200+ hours research volunteer
100 hours in cardiac rehab and emergency med department
50 hours at family house affiliated with my university's hospital
Senior design project (?)
Senior thesis became a journal publication and podium presentation at ORS
Phi Eta Sigma from 2007-2008
TA for 2 quarters in grad school, math and chem tutor for 3 years in undergrad
So im wondering what I should do. Do I have a good chance with my stats or should I retake even though my practice average was a 31? I was put on probation for a quarter in graduate school because of my b*tch PI and bad grades in courses my PI forced me to take. I can explain this in a less vulgar way on AMCAS. Nonetheless, I switched out of the guy's lab and am far more productive as a result.
Schools Im looking at:
Emory
UIowa
SUNY downstate
SUNY upstate
SUNY buffalo
SUNY stony brook
Albany Medical College
UCSD
UCI
UCD
and many more...
