Hey all,
I would really appreciate your advice on where I should apply given my stats and ecs:
3.41 cGPA and sGPA (very strong upward trend in last 2 years in upper division sciences : mostly A's in Biochem, Physiology, etc)
mcat: 40R
ECs:
5 years work at HIV clinic in my area
Executive Board member and vice president of Domestic Violence club( established a program/lots of leadership initiatives)
200 hours work at a drug addiction/rehab clinic for homeless people
1.5 years research at top lab (hoping for publication)
working on a Bioethics masters as we speak ( started before submission of application) as I have a very strong interest in clinical/research ethics.
worked 30-40 hours a week in college due to extenuating circumstances (both parents lost their jobs while my father became disabled: was the sole provider for my family during this time: paid bills, etc).
went to a top 30 school (tuition was covered by grants (Pell grant, etc) and scholarships
I will be applying under disadvantaged status as I have been under the poverty level since before I was 18 years old and have lived in subsidized, low-income housing.
I would really like to know what schools I should apply to given my stats and my ecs. Would my ECs be characterized as strong at top schools?
Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.
