I know this is probably annoying considering the volume of posts being created for this forum, but I'm pretty curious. If anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it.
-By the end of this semester I will have a 3.7cGPA and 3.64sGPA.
-Majoring in Biochemistry with minor in Mathematics and Spanish.
-Taking the MCAT April 2013
- intern performing 400+ hours of research with Thermo Fisher Scientific and presented findings to UIC College of Medicine
-performed organic chemistry research at Loyola University Chicago
-Currently performing working/performing research at UIC College of Medicine
-50+ hours volunteering at local hospital in surgical unit (will continue volunteering)
-volunteer at local nursing homes (will continue volunteering)
-created and implemented program in which I teach Spanish to local fire department
-tutoring various students
-certified EMT-B
-occasionally shadow various local doctors
-worked multiple jobs while maintaining full time student status
I feel like I'm just kind of mediocre in comparison to a lot of these people. I'm hoping to get another internship performing research with the REU program this summer, but if that doesn't work out, I'm guaranteed another internship with Thermo. Also, I figure that if I work my butt off, by the time I graduate, I can boost my GPA up to a 3.8 (I'm currently a junior).
I was wondering what my actual chances were and what MCAT score I should get? I am shooting for something like 33-35, but we'll see. Thanks!
