My GPA is stellar, though my college isn't exactly the most competitive in the country. My MCAT score is acceptable, though I honestly believe I could score several points higher if I retook it. I've had summer jobs over the years, great letters of rec, I'm an accomplished trombonist, though I haven't done as much shadowing as I'd like to. By my count, I have about 45 lifetime hours of shadowing, much of which happened right at the end of high school. I'm an OR resident, so obviously I'm applying to OHSU, but I literally have no clue where else I should look. Anyone know which schools are most likely to accept an out of stater like me? Would my chances increase dramatically if I had a higher MCAT score? I don't care about getting into the best schools. As far as I'm concerned, an MD is an MD. Thanks for the help!
