Hey everyone! :)
Super concise summary:
See my full WAMC post here for a better idea of my application: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/show....php?t=1003139
My goal is simple like many: to apply once and matriculate to any US MD school in 2014 though I would love to either (1) get into a dream school or (2) stay in state if not at a dream school. I'm not against DO but I would like to give MD a solid run first.
After carefully perusing the MSAR, I narrowed my list down to 28 schools. I would like to apply to no more than 20 schools though I'm open for suggestions as to a number you all think I should shoot for. Because of money, even 15 would be nice, but I really only want to do this once and not close any doors. I narrowed the list down to the 20 below based on the following to maximize my chances:
I also know that some schools (e.g., DC schools) have *a lot* of applicants so I'm not sure if I should even consider them even though my scores are in line. I also did not consider location when creating this list so if I still need to cut it down after feedback here, I'll go more into that.
Note on Loma Linda: I am *not* SDA, but for a variety of reasons, including my lifestyle and religious practices, I believe I would actually really like this school and it's quite "up there" in mind. However, do you think there's a good enough shot for a non-Christian?
Work-in-progress school list:
Michigan (state) schools:
Central Michigan
Michigan State
Oakland
U Michigan
Wayne State
Western Michigan
Others:
Albany
Brown*
Creighton
Drexel
Eastern Virginia
George Washington

A huge THANKS to any and all who help! :)
Super concise summary:
- cGPA: 3.97, sGPA: 3.91
- MCAT: #1 = 28 - 12/7/9, #2 = 31 - 10/9/12
- Activities: Clinical volunteering, research, leadership, and all the basics covered, plus other well-rounded activities. I think my ECs are fairly solid though also not extraordinary

- MCAT median less than/equal to 32
- OOS acceptance (where applicable) greater than/equal to 40%
- All Michigan (state) schools and a sprinkle of VA schools (my brother lives/works there)
- Dream schools or "reach" schools (marked with an asterik). I'm okay with having ~5 in this category, but if you think one is just a very poor choice, please don't hesitate to share.
I also know that some schools (e.g., DC schools) have *a lot* of applicants so I'm not sure if I should even consider them even though my scores are in line. I also did not consider location when creating this list so if I still need to cut it down after feedback here, I'll go more into that.
