Hi everyone,
First off, thank you for your time in advanced.
I feel I am sort of in a unique circumstance. I'll start off with EC's, then Academics.
Extra Curricular:
Volunteer Bike mechanic at my school's Bike shop
Hospice Volunteer/Caregiver
Undergraduate Research intern---will be a total of two years.
Treasure of Chemistry club---volunteer work/Demo's
Biology Club member----several volunteer work within
Shadowed: Cardiologist for total of 4 summers.
Student Instructor/TA for Microbiology
Academics:
3.40 (will be a 4.45 by the end of the semester) gpa (slowly climbing)
I have received 2 C's in general chemistry 1&2 and not due to lack of effort. My biology background is strong. I have a minor in chemistry and psychology. I know I can maintain A's and B's throughout the rest of my undergraduate. I plan to do a Postbacc to strengthen my GPA (Do you think it would be necessary to get into Med school right out of college?). There is my EC and Academic background. Me as a person, I can tell you that becoming a caregiver and all the experience/new perspective that comes with it has never felt so right to me. Absolutely love being there for people who need it.
How might I strengthen my application? Also, I am a sophomore (junior next year). So things may be added onto my EC's throughout my Ugrad career. Also, I am Hispanic... which may also be a factor (I don't think it matters).
