Hi All,
I need some help making an important decision regarding my schooling. Near the end of this semester I got very ill, to the point where my doctor advised I take a medical leave of absence because the stress from class was putting me in danger.
I have 2 options as far as this goes:
I can take incompletes in all my classes and make them up, if I make up the work I'm missing I'll have a B, a B+, and an A in 3 credit courses, a A in a 4 credit course, and 2 A-s in one credit courses.
I also have the option to do a retroactive leave for this semester which would give me a W in all of my classes. I could then retake them the following semester and probably pull off straight A's which would help my GPA tremendously.
Is a semester of full W's something that will hurt me in an interview if I can just explain that I was having severe health problems and it was under a doctor's recommendation I withdraw from class? Also, how do W's work in AMCAS GPA calculation?
Thanks.
