I know there are a million threads just like this, but this is something that has just been eating me up inside lately.
I just recently graduated from Portland State University with a B.S. in Psychology, an overall GPA of 3.79, and a science GPA of 3.76. I've completed the pre-med requirements for most med-schools I've looked at, completed the University Honors Program, wrote an undergraduate thesis, have several excellent LOR's lined up, was an officer in Psi Chi for a year, and have been volunteering at OHSU for about a year now.
I felt I was in pretty good shape, and then I took the MCAT this past summer, and got my results of a 25 O. Needless to say, I was a little dissapointed. I plan on retaking the MCAT this upcoming summer, as well as applying this year.
Let's say, for arguments sake, that I somehow only get a 25 again, or only marginally improve my scores (say a 26 or a 27). What do you think my odds would be regarding getting into a school like OHSU or University of Washington?
