Hi,
I just need some tips on school I should apply to and if I am competitive to the school I am about to list.
University of Alabama in Birmingham
University of South Alabama
I am an Alabama resident that goes to UAB(chemistry major) with a cgpa of 3.88 and sgpa 3.9+. I got a 30 (14/8/8) on the MCAT which I am still contemplating on retaking because of the unevenness of my score.
Volunteer:
Hospice volunteer
tutor middle school kids
Fraternity philanthropy
Spent a couple weeks volunteering for a camp for disability
Went to Guatemala for a one week medical trip
I have also done some random volunteer work here and there but not really consistent (habitat, community service with the school, etc)
Random:
1 year research in a Biochemistry lab (didn't really do anything significant besides gaining some experience)
studied abroad in Argentina for one semester (plan on going abroad once more to improve my Spanish)
I am currently bi-lingual (Vietnamese and English); maybe trilingual if the Spanish thing will click
I plan on working at a summer camp for people with disability this summer if everything works out.
I am currently reviewing some MCAT encase it comes down to it or I show some signs of major improvement. This upcoming year will be my fifth year. I would love some feedback. Thank you.
