MD & DO cGPA 3.26 sGPA 3.2

Hello all and thanks for taking the time to read.

I'm a Louisiana resident, graduated from LSU and have yet to apply to any schools. My stats are as follows:
cGPA: 3,26 sGPA: 3.2 MCAT 22, 21 (retaking in May or June)
EC's: Scribe in ER since January, will do internship at major cardiology center this summer.

I understand I'm not very competitive for MD. I do however have an advantage being a Louisiana resident to apply to both LSU system schools and even perhaps Tulane.

My real question concerns whether I'd be competitive for DO schools, particularly in the gulf states. I'm also very serious about my upcoming MCAT and feel I will bring it up to LSU's average of 29. For DO schools, what MCAT should I shoot for?

I believe if I were to do the Mississippi college SMP, and do well, I could be competitive for LSU the cycle after next. The problem is, MC is very expensive and it's debt before medical school debt. But, ifI can get acceptance to a DO school this cycle, I will absolutely take it. I love what DO has to offer as far as philosophy of practice. Unfortunately, there are no DO schools in LA and honestly, very few peoople ever heard of a DO. There aren't many practicing in this state I love but maybe I can help change that.

So I come to SDN and ask the following:
1. What MCAT should be the absolute minimum for DO?
2. What schools should I apply to as a LA resident and someone who plans to practice in the gulf region? (I'm willing to go anywhere for school other than Caribbean)
3. Should I hold out an extra year and apply to LSU?
