I am hoping that some of you can give me some input about my chance of getting into medical school and what schools I should be applying to.
I am graduating this May from a top 20 university. I took the Mcat in January 2nd time and got a 31 (BS 12, PS 8, VR 11). My first MCAT was a 25 (panicked and f*** everything up)
Here is my stat:
Human Biology major
Sci and overall GPA all over 3.8
Mcat 31 (2nd time)
volunteered at ER & HIV/AIDS unit for over 200hrs and shadowed doctors there there
research assistant at one microbiology (2 summers) and one human development lab (3yrs)
volunteered for a service fraternities (over 30hrs) in animal shelters and other on campus events
Member of translating program for three years, and helped translate at the local mayor election forum
Work in the school dinning hall for three years averaging 5-15 hrs a week
Mentoring three underclassmen (1yr)
Dance troupe member (4yrs)
Helped raised money to build school in poor regions in Asia (1yr)
LOR from a MD (shadowed & worked with) , MD (from research), o-chem professor
Plan to submit my app as soon as the cycle opens
Female Asian, NJ resident
Planning to take a gap year, looking for a job right now.
How is my chance of getting into medical school? Any suggestions on which schools I should apply to?
