Hello All,
Just looking for some advice on applications for this upcoming cycle in regards to my stats which are in the title. My cumulative GPA reflects my first two years of school which were around a 3.1 and 2.9 respectively. However, my cumulative GPA at the four year school I am attending is a 3.75 and hasn't been below a 3.6 any semester.
My first MCAT consisted of BS 10, VR 10, PS 7. I will be re-taking the MCAT May 18th after finishing my second semester of both physics and ochem and getting genetics and another physiology course under my belt so I expect a better showing this second time around.
I'm currently an Athletic Training major/Chemistry minor and my major has allowed me quite a bit of time in terms of patient contact and working directly as part of the healthcare team. I will have accumulated approximately 1300 hours by the time I graduate. In addition, I have shadowed physicians in Orthopedic Surgery (~200 hours), Emergency Medicine (~20), Neurology (~40), Maternal Fetal Medicine (~40), and Physician Assistants (~100).
My E.C's consist of being part of sports medicine club fort the past three years and recently being elected president, I work approximately 30 hours a week as a caregiver for the mentally and physically disabled and also worked 30 hours a week 3rd shift for two full school years prior to this job. I'm a representative on the Student Research Fund committee which critiques and distributes funds for the various research projects on campus, I'm also an active member in pre-med club and chemistry club. I'm on the state quiz bowl team for athletic training and also recently received a scholarship for the school that my major is a part of. I tutor human physiology for the younger students in our program. I was also selected as an intern for the sports medicine staff at international gymnastics camps this summer.

Rosalind Franklin, Loyola, CMU, WMU, MSU, Rush, MCW, SIU, U of I, Wayne State, Oklahoma
I plan on applying to as many DO schools as I can afford. I appreciate any advice and help that is provided. Thanks!
